Project Description
The event marketing lends aims to engage the community and spreading the word about the
Center for Media Design, its facilities, and what the Design Technology can offer for students.
My Role
User Research & Interview, Design Research,
and Concept Design
Problem:
The Stakeholders want to celebrate the student work show. The show will make connections
between people from the industry and get to know other students. As part of the marketing
group, our main problem is how we can get students to come and participate in the show. In
terms of budget and target audience, we need to find ways to make the show unforgettable.
Insight:
We conducted several interviews with different students and came to some conclusions. Many
students want to participate in such a show if they have all the desired information on social
networks.
Solution:
Open an Instagram page with all the desired information so that all participants in the event
can navigate by themselves to different areas of presentations, food and etc. As well as
everything related to the Marketing of the event if it is brochures and posters around the
collage.
Research methods
● Netnography
● Stakeholders Interviews
●customer journey map
In order to understand well what the expectations of the stakeholders and students are for this event, I began research using the following research methods:
Interviews with the students and stakeholders were a very significant part, in this part of the project all the necessary information was collected for accurate characterization and design of the user.
Our customer journey is built after creating the persona, by listening to interviews.
Once all the information was collected, my team and I brainstormed until we reached the final result, we tried to get into the minds of the students that coming to the program and we tried to uncover the emotions of the customers.

Results
We created an Instagram page and brochure that will be able to give all the desired information before and during the show. students will be able to find where each area is located and all the neccery info.
We created a billboard that gives the students the feeling conected to the scholl and photo booth to exchange of contact between students or any other guest at the show. The booth includes a mirror, SMC logo, and a board for drawings and chatter and that way everyone can upload the photos to the networks and make next year's students know about the show.

Reflection
The challenges that arose were finding solutions for students on how to be part of a certain group, during the research we realized that many students would like to participate in such events but have a fear of not understanding what is happening during the event or are ashamed to come alone.
From thorough research using interviews and a client journey, I realized that students at Santa Monica College had difficulty communicating with each other after the corona virus, therefore creating a social network, and unifying activities at the event site can give many students an opportunity to create new business and social connections.
